Over the years I'm afraid I've missed the mark too many times. The children of Israel had been bitten by poisonous snakes. They went to Moses, the prophet and asked him to heal them, to do something. Moses went to the Lord. The Lord told him to make a serpent on a cross and told the people to look at it to be healed. From the story we find that many people chose death over looking because it was too simple of an action. Every time I read that story, I'm always so frustrated with the children of Israel. Why were they so stubborn that they would try to look?! Why did they choose death over healing?! And yet, how often am I doing the same thing? I'm choosing to not look to Christ. Not because I don't believe, but because I'm too busy and forget. But it's all the same thing! Can one voice make a difference? Maybe, maybe not; but sometimes we have to try. Life can be good when we are focused on truth! Truth is peace! Truth is happiness! Truth can produce a bountiful life!
