Live Life

Back in September of 2019 I laid wide awake in bed with this idea of needing to write a book.  The thought was insane!  I don't know how to write very well.  I can't even post a social media post without misspelling something.  Yet, I continued to lay there with ideas flowing through my head. I felt like I needed to write something for the 3 seniors I was coaching at the time so they could be prepared to enter the world when they graduated.  As the ideas passed through my mind, I started taking notes.  As soon as I wrote down the ideas, I fell asleep within minutes of laying back down. Over the next few months I began researching and developing these ideas that I first wrote down that night in bed.  As they developed into chapters, I recognized that I was writing my healing process of my struggle with depression.  As I continued to write, I wondered why in the world these gymnasts need these stories and experiences I was sharing.  Little did ...

Father's Day

Since it's Father's Day, I figure I will give a little shout out to all the amazing Father's out there HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!   Thank you for all you do for the world and for your family.  There are so many men who go without being noticed.  My husband for one!  He doesn't like the spotlight.  He doesn't like a fuss.  I won the golden ticket by marrying him; and sometimes,  he needs to be spotlighted! This man is a real life super man!  He cooks, cleans, drives the kids around to all their activities, does the financials for the gym, and works full time as a banker.  I'm always amazed at the energy he has and how he can just keep moving forward.  What I wouldn't do to have energy like that again?!  I have to plan my day with rest breaks and naps in order to make it through.  But luckily I have him to pick up all my slack with my illnesses and keep our family moving forward.  He is kind, loving, patient, supportive, and pushes...

We need a George Washington

Today in my Facebook feed my pictures of visiting Mt Vernon showed up.  I had the opportunity to go to DC last year with my parents and the oldest grandkids.  I love DC!  I love the history that surrounds that place.  On that trip my 2 favorite places were - Mt Vernon and Colonial Williamsburg.  I've always been proud to be an American, but that trip made my love for America grow even more.  I found a deeper respect for the men who were bold enough to stand for truth when it was time to become a country.   I asked a question on FB that said, "Where is our George Washington's today?"  I ended up pondering on that question all morning long.  Why would I say that and what did I mean by it?   I read the book The George Washington Hypothesis by Tim Ballard last year and was mesmerized by the type of man he depicted George Washington to be.  I have always believed George Washington to be a great man, but I never realized how Go...

Unite in Christ

"He inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile." ~ 2 Nephi 26:33 This week I came to a realization in my life that I needed to be and do more.  The riots and protests going on awoke my spiritual sense in a way that shook my core.  Don't get me wrong, protests are good.  People need their voice to be heard.  It's not healthy to sit back in silence.  But the riots - UNEXCEPTABLE!  Our free agency is one of the most precious gifts we have received from God.  We don't need to force others to take our stance.  We don't need to physically beat someone or destroy something for people to see and hear us.  We need to follow the example of Christ and invite others to hear and see the inequality that is going on.  We need to invite others to walk in our shoes ...
